One owner – purchase with the idea of being the last vehicle
I’d need but life has a way of changing priorities.
Low miles (65,000), exclusively used for vacation travels and
mountain biking – not a commuter truck.
Almost entirely stock (except for airbags in rear), never abused, service all handled by
Toyota except the last two oil changes (done myself) always using Mobil full
synthetic, I’ll also include the rest of the case of OEM Toyota oil filters
(8).
Modifications:
·
Toyota FJ wheels – have stock wheels and
additional set of FJ wheels
·
Firestone airbags
·
Tow package – wiring for trailer as normal and
separate wiring for third brakelight and backup camera on PoD (all connections
utilize OEM waterproof connectors – nothing is spliced anywhere on the truck).
· Custom stealth lockable firearm storage in cab.
The “Escape PoD”
Purchased as a super secure, slide in/out, self contained, off grid camping solution that blends effortlessly into urban as well as remote settings.
PoD details:
Maranda slide in capsule - https://www.marandacap.com/copie-de-m-90-1
Modifications:
Fully insulated with radiant barrier
Sleeping platform (insulated), foam mattress with additional padding over the “shoulders” of the truck bed.
Integrated storage underneath the sleeping platform for three storage bins and misc room to spare.
Port-a-potty
Two nautical solar vent fans
Carbon Monoxide monitor and smoke detector
USB charging
Voltage monitor
LED lighting
CB and antennae
Deep cycle Interstate battery
Back door security camera with monitor mounted inside the PoD
Third brake light integrated into truck brake lights
Backup camera integrated into standard truck dash display unit – works the same stock camera in tailgate
Fire extinguisher
120vac to 12vdc power supply for shore power when available
Industrial base to slide/roll the PoD onto for storage off the truck
Heating PoD details:
Thule roof box
Diesel heater - entirely self contained in the roof box, heater/diesel tank/exhaust/intake – only requires one connection to the battery in the PoD for power and one connection for the remote/thermostat.
Heating PoD mounts to custom rack using the lift points on the lower sides of PoD and the heat is piped through the rear vent (rear vent spins out).
Vestibule details:
8’x8’ popup frame that collapses down for easy storage –
comes with rolling bag.
Fabric cover is made from water proof RV storage cover
material
The connection to the PoD allows for the doors to remain
open but seals off the lower part of truck to minimize dust/wind/insects.
During the winter camping we keep all the sides down to
retain heat – in the summer, the two sides roll up and there are screen sides
that zip into place and allow for airflow.
There are also pockets at the bottom of each wall to slip in pvc pipes for
added stability in windy conditions as needed.
There is enough space in the vestibule for a small kitchen
setup/two bikes, seating, and the toilet.
We’ve also used it as an additional sleeping area with the
bikes/toilet/cot with plenty of room to spare.
Custom stuff sack to protect the fabric cover and screen
sides.
